The laboratory of Computer Science of CNAM (CEDRIC) regroups the research activities in computer science and communications of the Conservatoire National des Arts et Metiers (CNAM). The research activities of CEDRIC are organized along five areas: Reliable systems (Certified Design and Programming), Information systems and Databases, Networks, Systems and Multimedia, Combinatorial Optimization, Statistical methods for data-mining and learning. CEDRIC performs fundamental and applied research and collaborates with industrial and academic laboratories in France and abroad. The CEDRIC laboratory is represented by the Interactive Media and Mobility (MIM) group. Some of the research axes in which MIM specialises are linked with multimodal HCI and Ambient Intelligence Systems. In addition MIM’s experience in the domains of serious games and edutainment, digital libraries, AR, cultural engineering and participatory design will be an important asset for the fulfilment of some of the main project’s visions and aspirations.

CEDRIC will be assuring the liaison in between the technological and the museums/CH institutions stakeholders throughout the full life circle of the project and will be actively implicated in the system requirements analysis, the definition of the interactive narratives, the content creation process and the evaluation/assessment of the user/visitor experience in close collaboration with the end-users (MNAD, CNAM-B, FACT).

The CNAM (Conservatoire National des Arts et Metiers) is one of the oldest higher education institutions. It was funded in 1794 by Abbé Henri Grégoire to demonstrate and teach the techniques useful for the industrial arts and for trade and to ensure scientific, engineering and industrial excellence. Today the CNAM spans across several cities in France and overseas. It is supervised by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research. The Cnam has been entrusted with 3 closely interconnected missions: Life-long education, research and innovation and scientific and technological knowledge. Nearly 100,000 students of all ages enrol each year in our professional and management development programmes.
