The Signal Processing Group (SPG) is a member of the “Instituto de Telecomunicaciones y Aplicaciones Multimedia (iTEAM)” which is one of the most important research institutes at the “Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV)” in Spain.
The SPG is involved in different research areas concerning theory and application of statistical signal processing. The main topics covered are related to optimal detection and classification, pattern recognition, independent component analysis, higher-order statistics, time-frequency spectral analysis, array processing and decision fusion. Moreover, these advanced signal processing techniques are being used in several applications including non-destructive testing (ultrasonic and impact-echo methods), surveillance and monitoring (acoustic scene analysis and infrared images) and biomedical signal processing (EEGs and ECGs).
